Bestselling author Cheryl Strayed to keynote annual Plymouth event

Posted July 16, 2026

Get ready for Key to Hope 2026! This year’s annual fundraiser centers on the power of housing to create stability, healing, and a new path forward.

Our keynote address will be Cheryl Strayed, the bestselling author of the memoir Wild — also a 2014 film starring Reese Witherspoon — and Tiny Beautiful Things.

Known for her candid, deeply human storytelling, Cheryl Strayed explores resilience, grief, healing, and the courage to begin again. Her work speaks to the realities of navigating hardship and the role compassion and support from others play in changing the course of a life.

Key to Hope will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13 at The Westin Seattle, with more than 1,000 local leaders, businesses, and advocates in attendance. Register now or make a gift in lieu of attending.

At Key to Hope, Cheryl will channel the emotional truth behind Plymouth’s work: Everyone deserves the chance for a different story — and none of us get there alone.

Plymouth Housing serves people in our region who have experienced chronic homelessness and face complex health challenges. We provide a safe place to live paired with the services people need to thrive.

The proof is in our model: 95% of Plymouth residents maintain stable housing long-term. Once people have a home here, they do not look back.

Join us to be inspired by Cheryl Strayed’s reflections on healing, connection and the power of home. Register for Key to Hope today.
