This is the most fun summertime event in the city! On Friday, August 10, Vulcan’s South Lake Union Block Party sponsored by Amazon.com will take over the Vulcan Discovery Center and the surrounding area for the whole day. The festivities go from Noon until 11 p.m. with lots of music and entertainment, a wine and beer garden hosted by the Brave Horse Tavern, food trucks, creative activities for children, and of course, an evening outdoor movie. This year, Plymouth will be the beneficiary of the event which means that all the proceeds from food and drinks will support Plymouth’s programs and services. In addition, anyone who brings an essential item for the Resident Welcome Baskets for our new building in the South Lake Union neighborhood, The Williams Apartments, now being constructed on Pontius Avenue, will be entered into a raffle to win fabulous prizes. The event is free so be there and bring an item that will help a formerly-homeless person outfit their new apartment!
