Plymouth Receives MetLife Award and BECU Grant

Posted November 9, 2010

This fall, Plymouth was awarded a prestigious national grant by Enterprise Community Partners and the MetLife Foundation that lauds the best practices in green, service-enriched housing for low-income seniors. One of four winners across the country, Plymouth received a grant of $50,000 in recognition of the excellence of our 2008 senior housing project, The Langdon & Anne Simons Senior Apartments. This sustainably-built project provides supportive homes for 92 formerly homeless seniors and veterans in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood.

“We are extremely gratified to be recognized both locally and nationally for our work in the field of supportive, low-income housing,” said Plymouth Executive
Director, Paul Lambros. “We’re deeply grateful to Enterprise Community Partners and the MetLife Foundation for their recognition of our efforts.”

BECU 2010 Housing Grant

BECU, the largest credit union in Washington State, has awarded Plymouth a $20,000 grant in recognition of Plymouth’s commitment to building strong, vibrant communities through affordable housing. With this grant, BECU recognizes Plymouth’s ability to create and sustain affordable low-income housing.

One of four grants awarded to low-income housing organizations in King, Pierce, Snohomish, Kitsap, Skagit, and Thurston counties, awards were given to organizations that show a commitment to increasing the number of low-income housing units available, and that promote the use of environmentally-friendly building materials.
