Our Commitment to Our Donors and Website Users
Plymouth Housing puts a high priority on protecting your privacy. This privacy policy was created to demonstrate our strong commitment to the privacy of our donors and website users. This policy illustrates the types of information we collect and how this information is used.
Our Website
Your privacy is important to us. Through our website we collect information from users. Information that is collected is anonymous by default, and personal only if explicitly asked for (in connection with online donations, mailing lists, registration to special events, and other similar purposes that are clearly and explicitly identified).
Plymouth Housing collects information through Google Analytics and associated tools. Google Analytics uses “cookies,” small text files saved to your computer, to track information such as your IP address, your state of origin, basic demographics, the web pages you view on Plymouth Housing Group’s website and how you found the Plymouth Housing Group website. This information is sent directly to Google, not to Plymouth Housing Group. If you wish to opt out of Google Analytics tracking, please click here to learn about Google’s opt-out browser add-on. This information is collected to improve our website’s content and design, or to diagnose problems with the website. This information is not used to personally identify you.
Plymouthhousing.org includes links to external websites. These links do not fall under the Plymouthhousing.org domain, and Plymouth Housing is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of external websites. Your use of any linked website is solely your own risk.
Donor Privacy
When you make a donation to Plymouth Housing, your personal information will not be shared with anyone other than Plymouth Housing and the payment processor, WePay, to securely process the transaction. If you choose to submit personal information in connection with online donation, mailing lists, event registrations or otherwise, we do not sell, share, or rent this information to others under any circumstances.
What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected
Plymouth Housing defines “Personal Information” as information that identifies you personally such as your name, address, telephone number, and email address. We collect and store the personally identifiable information that you share with us via one of the email addresses you provide on our website, when you contact us in person, by phone, email, and/or postal mail, with a question or concern. We collect your name, email address, telephone number, and payment information when you make a contribution through our website, at a special event, over the phone, or by mailing in payment such as a check or credit card information. We also collect your name, address, email address, and other contact information and payment details if you register for an event. We do not sell, share, or rent this information to others under any circumstances.
Plymouth Housing shares credit card information with our payment processor, WePay, to securely process the transaction. Credit card information that is used for donations such as recurring payments or gifts (i.e. monthly and quarterly donations) are securely stored with WePay, and are otherwise not kept by Plymouth Housing.
Information such as name, address, email address, other contact information, availability for scheduling and logistical details, interests, and educational level are also collected from people who register to volunteer at Plymouth Housing. Furthermore, Plymouth Housing believes in the importance of creating a safe environment for everyone–staff, residents, and volunteers—to build a positive community. With this in mind, we conduct background checks on all employees and certain volunteers who plan to work directly with the people we serve, as our resident population includes people who are considered vulnerable adults. Plymouth Housing uses an online background screening and information services system called Alliance 2020.
When we conduct a background check, Plymouth’s Human Resources Department Recruiter and Chief Administrative Officer will send the person who needs a background check an email that contains directions on how to complete the form for Alliance 2020. Once completed, we will look over the information and complete our portion of the application for Alliance 2020. Subsequently, we will review the results and discuss the next process with the applicant. All information gathered from the background screening and information service is secured and stored through Alliance 2020, and is otherwise not kept by Plymouth Housing. We do not sell, share, or rent this information to others under any circumstances.
The list above is a sample of personal information that may be collected by Plymouth Housing. Periodically, we may also collect personal information from you in ways not described above.
Use and Disclosure of Personal Information
As described under “Our Website”, Plymouth Housing collects information with the use of “cookies” through Google Analytics to improve our website’s content and design, or to diagnose problems with the website. This information is not used to personally identify you. If you wish to opt out of Google Analytics tracking, please click here to learn about Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
We collect personal information as explained under “What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected” because: the information is needed to process donations securely through our payment processor, WePay, to better understand your interests in our mission; and to update you on Plymouth Housing’s plans and activities. We also collect personal information when volunteers register to donate their time at Plymouth Housing through the volunteer registration application and background screening when applicable, so that we can best match volunteers with residents, activities, events, and opportunities that create positive community engagements. We do not sell, share, or rent this information to others under any circumstances.
We will use the personal information to protect against potential fraud. We may verify with third parties the information collected in the course of processing a gift, event registration or other donation. If you use a credit or debit card on the website, we may use card authorization and fraud screening services to verify that your card information and address matches the information that you supplied to us and that the card being used has not been reported lost or stolen.
Changes to the Privacy Policy
We may modify this privacy policy from time to time. Please review it periodically. We maintain the choice to adjust this privacy policy at any time by electronic notice posted on our website. Your continued use of our website and means of giving with us after the date that such notices are posted will indicate your agreement to the changed terms.
