What’s it like inside a Plymouth building?

Much like any other Seattle apartment building! Plymouth owns and operates renovated historic properties and new construction in downtown, central, and north Seattle, and in Bellevue. Our buildings include community spaces—from television and reading rooms to community kitchens and gardens—plus staff offices. Some buildings also have on-site medical offices staffed by nurses or doctors from Neighborcare Health or Harborview Medical Center.”

Our first building in ballard, Toft Terrace opened in January 2023. The building offers:

  • 81 studio apartments for single adults who’ve experienced housing insecurity
  • Supportive services and case management
  • Ground-floor commercial retail space on bustling 15th Ave NW

Why “Toft Terrace”? In Old Norse, toft means “homestead” or “site of a house.” Given Ballard’s historical and contemporary ties to the Scandinavian community, our naming committee sought a name that would honor that heritage while also promoting the idea of “home” to our residents.
