Plymouth Housing

Pathway to Thriving

We did it! Thank you for another successful Key to Hope. On September 25, more than 1,100 members of our community gathered for Plymouth Housing’s signature luncheon. To everyone who contributed to Key to Hope, thank you for supporting Plymouth’s proven, evidence-based, and compassionate approach to ending homelessness. Together, we raised over $1.6 million!

Journalist Esmy Jimenez emphasized the critical need for supportive housing as a foundation for recovery, particularly for those with behavioral health challenges. Her moving and informative keynote address inspired us to invest in innovative solutions that help vulnerable members of our community heal and regain stability. Watch the recording of the keynote below:

If you were unable to attend this year’s luncheon, we invite you to make a contribution to Plymouth Housing today.

Make a gift

Each of us can help make a difference. It will take our combined efforts to ensure that everyone in our community has a home and can live with dignity.

Keynote Speaker

This year’s luncheon will featured a keynote presentation by Esmy Jimenez, senior reporter for The Boston Globe and co-producer of “Lost Patients,” a podcast from KUOW, The Seattle Times and NPR. Through her journalism, Jimenez unravels complex topics like immigration and mental health, revealing how historic inequities and policy failures continue to impact marginalized communities.

Jimenez’s work on “Lost Patients” holds particular relevance for Plymouth. Through six deeply reported episodes, the series examines the difficulties of treating severe mental illness. With testimonials from patients, families, and professionals on the front lines, “Lost Patients” presents a solutions-oriented look at how we can come together as a community to provide more effective behavioral health care. The podcast yields critical insights as Plymouth evolves our model of care to better support our residents.

Who does Plymouth serve?

Each Plymouth resident has a unique personal history, but they also have a lot in common: 96% have a disability, and 62% live with a mental health condition. 25% are 65 or older, 11% are veterans, and 47% are people of color. All 1,400 are people who previously experienced homelessness for many years—and they are bright, resilient members of our community.

When someone moves into a Plymouth apartment, they receive much more than a roof over their head. They gain access to personalized support from a housing case manager, on-site services like health care and counseling, and regular community activities. These resources create a stable and deeply supportive place where residents can heal and rebuild their lives after experiencing homelessness. Will you help us expand our reach, enhance our services, and ensure that everyone who walks through our doors finds a true home?

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a dress code for this event?

The recommended dress code for this event is business casual attire.

What is a Table Captain?

Our Table Captains are individuals who volunteer to host a table of guests (10 per table). Becoming a Table Captain is free!

Table Captains can also become Table Sponsors by sponsoring their table at $2,500 and encouraging all of their guests to give the suggested donation of $250, doubling their impact.

Can I register if I don't have a Table Captain?

Absolutely! Everyone is welcome to attend Key to Hope, even without a Table Captain. When you register, just write “N/A” in the Table Captain field.

Is it really free to attend?

To make Key to Hope as inclusive as possible, attendees are not required to pay to access the event. However, this is also a major fundraiser for Plymouth Housing: To help us reach our fundraising goal, we suggest a donation of $250 at the event.

What does Plymouth Housing do?

Plymouth Housing is one of the largest providers of permanent supportive housing in King County. Since 1980, Plymouth has been ending homelessness one person at a time. We believe that housing is a human right, and the first step to a more stable life. Currently, the organization houses nearly 1,400 individuals at 17 apartment buildings throughout the county. Our PSH provides 365 days of housing, plus critical support services, for the cost equivalent of a couple weeks in a hospital or a few weeks in King County jail. And, more than 95% of PSH residents find stability and leave homelessness behind forever.

How else can I get involved in Plymouth's mission?

We are always looking to engage new Plymouth supporters! Check our volunteer page for current opportunities. You can also learn more about our work by following us on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube.
