Plymouth Housing’s mission is to eliminate homelessness and address its causes by preserving, developing and operating safe, quality, supportive housing and by providing adults experiencing homelessness with opportunities to stabilize and improve their lives. For more information, see our pages on Housing First, Plymouth properties, and our Mission & Vision.
Plymouth strives to be a good neighbor for our community and our residents. Our residents face a multitude of challenges, and readily accessible support is critical to their ability to remain housed. All residents have an assigned housing case manager, and we operate 24-hour front desks to provide support at all times. This also means that Plymouth staff are available to watch and respond to incidents in the neighborhood at all times.
Like all other supportive housing providers in King County, we participate in the new “Coordinated Entry” centralized system. Unfortunately, this means that we cannot do individual outreach to those living outdoors in specific neighborhoods, but we do have partnerships and referral agreements with local social service organizations. A few of the community organizations we work with are: Harborview Hospital, the Veterans Administration, Evergreen Treatment Services (REACH), the King County Public Health and Criminal Justice systems, Chief Seattle Club, and more.
Like anyone who rents their home, our residents have rights and responsibilities. Our apartments are subsidized, and residents pay 30% of their income toward rent and also need to follow their lease and building rules. For residents who have no income upon move-in, Plymouth will pay the minimum rent payment for 12 months or until they become connected to an income source. Plymouth also closely follows Washington State Landlord-Tenant Law.
