Project Context
In 2020, more than 1,000 people experienced homelessness on a given night in the Eastside. Fully addressing homelessness in our region requires a multifaceted solution, since people experiencing homelessness have a wide array of needs. Some people need an affordable apartment to prevent them from falling into homelessness in the first place. Others may require a short shelter stay and help searching for a job. The people Plymouth serves live with disabilities and need a permanent home that provides more services than a typical apartment building in order to stay housed and thrive.
In recognition of this need for a multifaceted solution, Plymouth is part of a campus offering a range of homelessness services and affordable housing options. In addition to our 92-apartment permanent supportive housing building, the campus includes PorchLight which operates a 100-bed men’s shelter, and Inland Group, who operates 353 units of workforce housing. Each part of the campus addresses homelessness or housing insecurity in specialized and complementary ways.
Construction on Plymouth Crossing began in 2021 and was completed by 2023.
