We have great news! Plymouth’s newest building–the Pat Williams Apartments in South Lake Union–has earned Honorable Mention in this year’s Charles L. Edson Tax Credit Excellence Awards, a prestigious national competition sponsored by the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition (AHTCC).
We’re proud that this development, a project of Plymouth Housing Group, SMR Architects, and BNBuilders, has been recognized by AHTCC in their category of Special Needs Housing. The Pat Williams Apartments is an all-recovery building that provides permanent supportive housing to 81 formerly-homeless men and women who are committed to living a clean and sober life. Half of the apartments are reserved for veterans. All residents actively participate in Plymouth’s new Recovery Support Program.
Last year, the Pat Williams Apartments received LEED Platinum certification for achieving the highest standards in sustainable design.

The Coalition, a nonprofit corporation chartered under the laws of the District of Columbia, is governed by an elected Board of Directors. The Housing Credit program was created as part of the Tax Reform Act of 1986. Today, the Housing Credit is widely regarded as the nation’s most successful housing production program ever, resulting in the construction and rehabilitation of more than 2.6 million housing units for low- and moderate-income Americans. In addition to producing housing, the Credit also contributes to the revitalization of distressed low-income communities and creates needed jobs. It is estimated that building 100 multifamily units generates 122 local jobs during the first year of construction and 46 jobs every year thereafter.
