Aidan Poile, Plymouth’s director of real estate, has been named one of Puget Sound Business Journal’s 2013 “40 Under 40” honorees.
Aidan was one of 40 emerging business leaders chosen from a group of more than 400 nominees. Everyone at Plymouth is delighted that Aidan’s exceptional leadership is being recognized in this way. In his nomination letter, Plymouth Executive Director Paul Lambros wrote:
“Plymouth’s mission is to eliminate homelessness and address its causes by preserving, developing and operating safe, quality, supportive housing and by providing homeless adults with opportunities to stabilize and improve their lives. So leaders with breakthrough impact have to be both driven by compassion and guided by the discipline of business. That’s Aidan.”
He went on to say:
“Aidan integrates development and property management for a portfolio with a total real estate asset value of $125M and manages to a complex endgame measured in both social and economic terms. He innovates with boldness and pragmatism; he’s a systems thinker and a detail shepherd; and he’s transforming our organization, industry and community.
When planning our 13th building, Aidan saw a high-impact opportunity. Half of the units were set aside for homeless veterans and he inspired us to achieve LEED Platinum certification (making it the state’s first affordable housing and second Mid-Rise project of any kind to do so). At the same time, he brought our 14th mixed-use building through pre-development, deftly navigating significant political, financial, planning and development issues.
Aidan applies exceptional fiscal acumen to what has been called the ‘grotesquely complicated’ financing of our work and his passion for reliable and valid data is contagious. Everyone respects Aidan’s ‘big brain,’ but he’s also incredibly well-liked by staff, trustees, residents and community leaders.
Aidan has created a high-performing team deeply invested in their own work and in our shared mission to end homelessness. He’s a wise soul, the embodiment of integrity and a supportive colleague. He listens, he thinks, and then he proposes groundbreaking solutions that inspire others to shoot for the moon and make it. I believe he’s the future of business and civic leadership in Puget Sound.”
