Volunteer for the United Way Day of Caring on September 16

Posted August 3, 2011

Once again the United Way of King County is hosting their annual Day of Caring on Friday, September 16. You can sign up to be part of this day and volunteer at Plymouth Housing Group or another local non-profit.

Volunteers play an integral role in helping non-profits complete much-needed projects. Last year, Day of Caring volunteers from the Gates Foundation, Raikes Foundation and Jacobson Jarvis & Co. generously donated their entire day to volunteer at Plymouth. Gates Foundation and Raikes Foundation volunteers pruned, pressure-washed and replanted the terrace garden at the Colwell Building. Other Gates Foundation employees helped assemble table packets and centerpieces for our annual luncheon. Jacobson Jarvis volunteers cleaned and organized the new Essential Supply Center, which supplies residents with essential household items.

Join United Way of King County and hundreds of King County organizations in the largest day of volunteering in Washington State! Last year over 10,000 volunteers spent the day helping over 300 organizations. You can be part of this great event by signing up for a project here.
