When Victor came to Plymouth Housing, he found more than a place to live. He found a community that believes everyone deserves safety, care, and dignity.
Victor’s road to stability wasn’t easy. After losing both parents as a child, he grew up in 13 foster homes before striking out on his own at 17. He worked as a journeyman painter, a chef, and even a tour guide in Alaska. But when health problems struck, including a battle with cancer and chronic pain, he could no longer keep up with the rising cost of living.
He spent winters couch surfing or sleeping on friends’ floors, and summers on concrete porches or in the bushes near Seattle Center.
That changed in 2014, when Victor moved into Plymouth Housing.
Now, he lives in a spacious apartment filled with plants and sunlight, along with his cats, Ebony and Ivory. He grows vegetables in the rooftop garden, shares meals with neighbors, and gets the medical care and case management support he needs to stay healthy.
“After moving so much, this stability I have here is a keepsake,” he said. “This is home.”

At Plymouth, this model works: 95% of residents remain stably housed year after year thanks to the wraparound care your support makes possible.
“I’m grateful for Plymouth because it’s permanent supportive housing — people can live out their lives here,” Victor added.
