This morning, the Seattle Times published an editorial jointly authored by All Home co-chairs Paul Lambros (our Executive Director) and Lainey Sickinger with All Home Director Mark Putnam. In their response to Sen. Mark Miloscia’s misleading March 14 editorial, Lambros, Putnam and Sickinger present the facts about homelessness in Washington today and invite the Legislature to re-engage with the communities and agencies that are actively combating homelessness. Only through a concerted community effort will we change the state of homelessness in Washington.

In declaring a state of emergency, King County Executive Dow Constantine and Seattle Mayor Ed Murray asked the state of Washington to re-engage as a partner in ending homelessness.
They did this because the state’s investment in responding to the crisis has stagnated in recent years. The state is not fulfilling its responsibility for funding the systems that discharge people into homelessness.
