We are pleased to announce Plymouth Housing Group’s Fine Arts Fair, featuring original artwork by our residents. Over 60 works of art will be on display in conjunction with the Belltown Art Walk on July 12th. Art for sale to the public will be reasonably priced and includes original drawings, paintings, prints, fiber art, and reproductions of original work. All proceeds will go directly to the artists.
Plymouth resident and artist Gary Nelson states, “Just expressing yourself is a very positive thing—it helps you motivate yourself and be happy with yourself. It helps you realize your accomplishments; it’s a necessity to feel you are contributing something of yourself.”
Over the years, we have found that many Plymouth residents are artists. In partnership with the classes delivered by another Seattle nonprofit, Path with Art, Plymouth provides its residents with opportunities for creative expression, personal growth and greater stability through art. Some of the work created by Plymouth residents is represented each autumn at our annual “Key to Hope” luncheon. The Fine Art Fair, however, will be the first Plymouth event to facilitate the opportunity for artists to sell their work. “The pieces range from whimsical to contemplative, with terrific spirit and energy,” says Kathy Roseth, Chief Operations Officer.
We invite you to come celebrate our residents’ creative work! Join us Thursday, July 12 from 4-8pm at 2125 3rd Avenue, next door to the Simons Senior Apartments. Refreshments provided. The Belltown Art Walk is held on the second Friday of each month; participants include over 15 art-related businesses and galleries within Belltown.
