Plymouth Housing Group was the beneficiary of Vulcan’s 8th Annual South Lake Union Block Party held this year on August 10 and presented by Amazon.com. Plymouth received all proceeds from ticket sales for food and beer, a record-breaking $18,500! Additionally, South Lake Union businesses donated nearly $4,000 in in-kind gifts to Plymouth. And if that wasn’t enough, dozens of the 7,500+ attendees filled two barrels for our Essential Supply Center!
Vulcan has a long history of generously supporting Plymouth Housing Group and has been a welcoming neighbor to our newest property, the Williams Apartments in South Lake Union that will be home to 81 homeless veterans and people intent on recovery. With this new building opening in 2013, we will have 1,000 permanent homes for formerly homeless adults.
“Plymouth is thrilled to be moving into South Lake Union,” said Plymouth board member Craig Parsons at the event that evening. “We have received great support from the South Lake Union businesses and other neighbors who have been very welcoming. Thank you, Vulcan, for your long-time generosity, especially tonight!”
Big thanks to the South Lake Union in-kind donors: 5focus, Amazon.com, American Lung Association of Washington, Banya 5, Blue Moon Burger, Cornish College of the Arts, Kenmore Air, Lake Union Wellness, LunchBox Laboratory, Pilates Seattle International, ZipCar!
